Apple’s 10,000 App Milestone Reminds Me That Steve Jobs Is Getting Richer By The Minute
The high flying cult of iPhone fanatics at TapTapTap.com have created a commemorative iPhone mosaic celebrating the 10,000 plus apps submitted by developers to Apple's wildly popular App Store. If this doesn't get you amped up you may want to check for a pulse.
On December 3rd the iTunes App Store officially passed the 10,000 app milestone according to a report by AppShopper.com, as dozens of champagne bottles started popping uncontrollably here at iPhone Savior headquarters.
The TapTapTap guys even added a hi-res, print quality link for anyone who's interested in printing and framing their work of art for daily worship. Looking at a close-up section pulled from the iPhone mosaic reminds me that Apple is literally printing money from the success of the App Store. Not that anything's wrong with that.
I believe this profound work of art will become a banner of hope and encouragement for all developers who've tried to launch a 'killer app' and failed. You're "Koi Pond" success story is only one new app away my friends. Or is it? You'll never know unless you stay in the game. Congrats to the developers for your brilliant work! Except for the Chicago Tribune's "Mobile Zodiac" app nightmare. Not so brilliant.
In related news, the framed original iPhone Mosaic art fetched a disappointing $9,992 dollars at auction.
